VSphere Client Downloads. Posted by Joseph Turley. There are quite a few things that the web client can’t even come close to matching on the thick client. I hope it doesn’t go away too soon! As i need it to connect to the cloud from someone else i was only needing the client but VMWare still wanted me to sign in and on and agree to. Now, I have a new ESXi 6.0 host that I built. I am using the thick client v6.0 on another PC to connect to it. What I'd like to know is, can I use v6 thick client to connect to both 6.0 and 5.5 hosts? The VMware config matrix seems to indicate No. Seems crazy that the 6.0 client wouldn't be able to connect to 5.5 hosts.

That's all! 4 fucking clicks on the normal client! But what a joy, you can't use the normal client with vsc anymore and you are forced to the web class client.

Get VMware to opensource the vSphere thick client

Everyone, I know vmware will never develop the thick client again, but they still have not gotten the html5 web client to be on par with the thick client. As a huge community I believe we could continue the development of the thick client if VMWare would just opensource it. Please write to your TAM and lets get this done.
